Changing Blog Description

I felt it didn't really pertain to me anymore. I was really struggling with the whole SAHM thing, the kids, the house, the husband. But now I am at peace and that is thanks to Him!! So I felt I needed to change my description. Don't get me wrong, I still have bad days, but that is part of the journey and when those days happen, I lean on Him more! God is good!!!

Description was:
Stay at home mom in search of serenity, sanity, and the living room floor. The search ends hopefully in 18-20 years!

Commercial - faithmouse

I am in a commercial mood today!

Have you been introduced to faithmouse? If not let me invite you to www.faithmouse.com and http://faithmouse.blogspot.com/. I ran across faithmouse while searching for pro-life information. It is a great conservative christian cartoon that you can add to your blog for free, which I am going to do tonight.

Commercial - www.abortiondebate.org - Civil Abortion Debate

Do you have an interest in communicating your thougths about abortion, either Pro-Choice or Pro-Life? If you do, I suggest going to www.abortiondebate.org. We like to discuss topics while being civil to each other. Right now there are more pro-life views expressed but opposing views are welcome too. If you like to stay on topic and don't care for the personal attacks, please check us out.

Test post and the word Pithy

This is a test post to see if my user name changed.

And don't you hate it when people use the word pithy? Seems they use it to sound intelligent. I really think the word is overused. And Bill O'Reilly started it. :)

Not blogging again

So it's been over a month since I posted. Man I was going to do better than that. I have been doing some things in my spare time that have kept me from the blog world. I am more active in my church, I volunteer at a Crisis Pregnancy Center and I just recently became active on an abortion debate forum (http://www.abortiondebate.org).

Really, there has been a change in me lately. I went back to Church last December, really just started going reguluary. I have never been a regular attendee. My husband and I wanted to go so we started going. He grew up in the Methodist church and that is where we attend. I was baptized, with my kids on April 3rd of this year. Since then I have started working with the youth group (read the High School kids who are difficult to get to interact on Sunday morning) and really am enjoying it. I can't wait for the fall activities to pick back up so I can be even more involved.

I also have jumped in head first into the Pro-Life movement, I guess. What prompted this was Terri Schiavo's case. I really had a problem with so many people thinking it was ok to let her die becuase her husband said that is what she wanted. I didn't understand how flip people were about her situation. It weighed on me and I prayed. Well, the Lord led me to a Crisis Pregnancy Center where I counsel girls on what their options are which hopefully doesn't end up being abortion.

So I also started looking for abortion debate boards so I could debate my opinion with others becuase I feel so strongly about it. Well, I found out there are some nasty debate boards out there, both Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. I found one though that was great becuase they monitor closely and keep out personal attacks. It is great becuase we really have an exchange of information instead of an exchange of personal attacks. We really try to debate the issues instead of who called who and "idiot". It's an emotionally charged topic so things can get heated, but it just doesn't get out of control. If you are interested in seeing what the borad is about and voiceing your opinion, Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, please click on over to http://www.abortiondebate.org.

Party Pooper

I do not like fireworks!!! They threaten personal property, health and mental sanity. My dog goes crazy. My kids wonder what the noise is and it is irritating to me. I always wonder why the Shriners sell fireworks to make money, yet their official philanthropy is Shriners Hospitals for Children. It's raining here or it was but now there is a small break so the fireworks have begun again. And it's lightening still. So they are risking their lives even more to set off fireworks. Grrr....

How long do these things stay out here???

Not sure who I am writing this for??? At least for me. :)

It's been nearly 8 months since I wrote an entry. What's been happening? Kids are growing up. Potty training is in full swing. 38 month old wants nothing to do with it really. She say she has dreams about pooping on the potty. But that's about it. And she's a girl. Isn't it conventional wisdom that girls are easier to potty train? We will see I have a 2 year old boy who likes sitting on the potty. And has actually peed while on the potty. Not in the potty but he was on the potty. The pee was on my leg. DD was on big potty and son was on little training potty. I wasn't expecting him to do anything. I was helping her wipe and get off the big potty when my leg got very warm. He hasn't peed since then on the potty but hey it's a start.

My son is talking more and more. He says "Mowee" for more and "Yuice" for juice. Very cute at this stage with the talking thing. And man does he have a temper!!! If he doesn't want to go to bed he screams/yells at me. Not nice so mommy threatens to take the binky and he quiets down. Of course, the binky is going to be a thing of the past real soon!

Made a Dora cake for DD's 3rd birthday party. Just family but I was impressed with my effort.

As for me, we started going back to church. I have been reading lots. Case for Christ, Case for Creator, Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury, Cape Light series by Thomas kinkade, the Bible, Won by Love and Prolife answers to Pro-Choice Arguments. I was baptized with my kids on April 3, 2005 at North Spring United Methodist church. I have been praying religiously (no pun intended) and should be reading the Bible more religiously. I am volunteering at a Pregnancy Crisis Center. Haven't exactly started yet but will this Thursday. I do feel like this is a calling. I have been trying to determine what it is that God put me here on this earth for, rather than doing what I think I am here for. I am in a much better place than I was before so I say, so far so good. Chalk one up for God!

We are traveling like crazy. Just got back from Texas. We went to Dallas to visit some of my husband's family. It was 10 hours in the car with two toddlers, my husband and my mother-in-law. It went better than anticipated. We are headed to Vegas next for a girls weekend, except the husbands are coming. Not my idea. Love, Love, Love my husband but I like my girl trips that we try to do once a year. Not too psyched about the Vegas location either, but it was the cheapest at the time we booked the trip. We are also making a trip to visit the MIL to setup an external hard drive for backing up her computer and then we will be making a similar trip to visit my BIL to do the same thing. Man summer is busy!!

That's enough for now. My next entry will be before the end of the month. And if you're interested this is an updated picture of the new kitty who is now 10 months old. In this picture he is only 6 months old. He is a big kitty!!
